Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - The Oakland Athletics have optioned Landon Powell to Triple-A Sacramento. Powell batted .176 with three doubles, one home run and four RBI in 32 games as the club's backup catcher this year. This is the first time Powell is being sent down this season after being called up and sent down multiple times last year. A corresponding roster move will be announced prior to Tuesday's game in New York.

Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - The Oakland Athletics placed pitcher Trystan Magnuson on the 15-day disabled list on Thursday and recalled pitcher Jordan Norberto from Triple-A Sacramento. Magnuson, whose move is retroactive to August 16, is suffering from right shoulder tendinitis. After winning the series opener on Monday the Orioles put themselves into position to claim their first series since taking two of three from Cincinnati from June 24-26.
