02/04/2010 - Indianapolis, IN (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Horizon League foes will meet in Indianapolis tonight, as the hometown Butler Bulldogs host the Detroit Titans.
Detroit has won its last two outings to move to 14-8 overall and 7-4 in Horizon play. On Saturday, the Titans knocked off Illinois-Chicago by a 76-73 final, and they hope to improve a 3-5 mark in true road games tonight.
Butler is clearly the class of the Horizon League, as the club is a perfect 11-0 in conference and 18-4 overall. The Bulldogs haven't tasted defeat since December 22nd, and the most recent victory occurred on Sunday over Milwaukee by a 73-66 final. Butler is a perfect 8-0 at home this season, an obvious reason for confidence tonight.
The first meeting between these teams back on January 10th resulted in a 64-62 overtime win for the Bulldogs, and Butler owns a 39-28 advantage in the all- time series.
Chase Simon has led Detroit in scoring in six consecutive outings, and he is currently averaging 14.9 ppg. Xavier Keeling checks in with 12.8 ppg, and Eli Holman provides 11.7 ppg and 8.7 rpg. Rounding out a foursome of double-digit scorers is Thomas Kennedy with 11.2 ppg. The Titans are posting 71.3 ppg while limiting opponents to 65.5 ppg on 40.4 percent shooting. In the three-point win over UIC last time out, Simon posted 20 points and 10 rebounds in 29 minutes of action. Keeling netted 14 points, while Kennedy contributed 11 points. The Titans connected on 56 percent of their field goal attempts in the clash and earned a 38-26 rebounding advantage. They also finished with a 17-6 edge in points from the foul line, and all of those positives helped the squad overcome 22 turnovers.
Through 22 games, Butler is scoring 70.5 ppg while limiting opponents to 61.7 ppg. The Bulldogs have three double-digit scorers in the fold, and all three have started every game this season. Gordon Hayward leads the way with 16.1 ppg and 7.8 rpg, and Shelvin Mack provides 15.0 ppg. As for Matt Howard, he rounds out the group with 11.1 ppg. Hayward scored 25 points in 38 minutes against Milwaukee over the weekend, while Mack and Ronald Nored both tallied 13 points. Howard finished with 11 points before fouling out for the Bulldogs, who managed to limit the Panthers to 39 percent field goal efficiency. A 27-16 edge in points from the foul line certainly proved to be beneficial.

New York, NY – October 3, 2007 – The dress rehearsal is over! The NHL preseason has ended and now that fans have had a glimpse of what is to come it is time to hit the book! Stanley Cup odds are live at MySportsbook.com, the world’s largest online sportsbook and casino.
The Ottawa Senators and Detroit Red Wings remain on top of the odds charts after an impressive start in the preseason. Betting lines opened for both teams at 6-1 in June. Since then the Sens have fallen to 7-1 and the Red Wings are now caught in a pack including the defending champion Carolina Hurricanes, the San Jose Sharks and the Anaheim Ducks, all at 10-1.
MySportsbook.com has also posted props on each team’s point total for the regular season. The Senators lead the charge at 108.5 followed by the Ducks at 106.5. Detroit will attempt a repeat for the prize as the Red Wings are deadlocked with the Predators at 104.5 a piece. The temporary loss of highly touted rookie Evgeni Malkin puts a lot of pressure on the stick of assistant captain Sidney Crosby - his lowly Pittsburgh Penguins are listed at 71.5.
Even if bettors are not brave enough to put their money on the underdog, an early bet on the favorites at sportsbook.com tends to produce bigger payouts than a mid-season wager. Placing a $1,000 bet last summer on the Detroit Red Wings or Ottawa Senators would have paid out to $8,000 and $10,000 respectively, opposed to a $2,500 or $3,000 payout at the beginning of the playoffs.
