Sevastova takes Estoril title

05/08/2010 - Estoril, Portugal (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Latvian Anastasija Sevastova defeated Spaniard Arantxa Parra Santonja in straight sets Saturday to win the title of the $220,000 Estoril Open.

Sevastova, ranked 74th, took the 6-2, 7-5 victory in a little more than an hour and earned her first career WTA title. The 20-year-old was appearing in her first-ever tour final after ousting seventh-seeded Chinese Peng Shuai in the semifinals.

The 81st-ranked Parra Santonja was also appearing in her first WTA final, as she ousted second-seeded Romanian Sorana Cirstea in the semis of this clay- court French Open tune-up.

Saturday's match was the first between the finalists on the WTA level. Sevastova collected $34,000 for the victory, while Parra Santonja earned $17,500 as the runner-up.
